The United Arab Emirates was present at a meeting convened by Germany on the sidelines of the “Seven” summit, in the presence of industrialized countries, donors and specialized organizations, with the aim of mobilizing joint action to increase global food security. , and set its vision for the world to have an immediate and long-term impact in this regard by supporting social protection spending, directing investment in food and water systems and increasing investment in innovation, which are three axes that the state has used for decades. to achieve its food security, based on the vision of wise management, which emphasizes that “food is a red line.”
The United Arab Emirates has gained significant experience in food security, the most important of which are support for vital industries, the stimulation of agriculture and farmers, the use of smart technology and the adoption of research and development approaches, all within the framework of its commitment to carbon neutrality in 2050, in addition to launching international initiatives to promote investment in innovative food systems, including the UAE – US Joint Initiative “Agricultural Innovation for Climate”, and sharing its experiences with countries, reaffirms its permanent commitment to collective action to address the global food crisis and reduce the worsening of hunger.
