A minute’s silence was held for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey at the World Government Summit on Monday.

During his opening address, Mohammed Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit, highlighted how the summit serves as a platform to shape the future of governance.

He highlighted how “government crises are caused not due to a lack of resources, but rather a lack of good governance”.

Held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, the Summit will bring together thought leaders, global experts and decision-makers from around the globe to share policies, and models that are essential in shaping future governments.
