Ministerial Development Council discusses number of government initiatives and projects

ABU DHABI, 21st April, 2022 (WAM) — Chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Development Council held its meeting today at the Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.

Under the national agenda for direct investment outside the country, the council discussed several studies to support UAE investments abroad and identifying key economic sectors targeted in the next stage, as well as the geographical areas that constitute investment opportunities.

The Ministerial Development Council also discussed the policy of publishing violations related to the regulations of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

In legislative affairs, the Council discussed the preparation of a federal law regarding the care of children of unknown parentage in the country, the law aims at addressing the challenges related to this category at all levels including health, educational, social, psychological, and recreational.

The Council also discussed the legislations of private health facilities in order to add the financial fine to the list of disciplinary measures that may be imposed on each of the health facilities.

The council discussed the recommendations of the Federal National Council regarding the role of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in developing the national industry. The discussions also included recommendations from the committee formed to study the national scholarship system to prepare a general policy for scholarships in the country.

Also, the meeting reviewed a statement about the participation of the Ministry of Finance in the G20 for the year 2022, a report explaining the challenges related to the teachers’ housing of the Ministry of Education, a report on the developments of the “33 initiatives” for economic recovery, and a report about the developments in the implementation of the Cabinet’s decision of involving youth in the official missions of the federal authorities, among various reports.
