Muslim Council of Elders condemns terrorist attack on western Sinai in Egypt

ABU DHABI, 7th May, 2022 (WAM) — The Muslim Council of Elders, under the Chairmanship of the Grand Imam of Al Azhar His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting a water lifting station west of Sinai, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which resulted in the death of an officer and 10 soldiers, as well as 5 others.

The Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, expressed the Council’s solidarity with the Arab Republic of Egypt and its efforts towards rooting out and combating extremist ideology and terrorism.

He said that the Council extends its sincere condolences to the leadership, government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt, praying to Allah Almighty to bless the brave martyrs of Egypt with his mercy, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
