‘New plan announced for cleaner air in Abu Dhabi’

by Dubaiforum

The Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi has unveiled a new plan to enhance air quality and minimize noise pollution, mandating businesses to pledge their support for cleaner air initiatives.

This air quality system will be enforced on all projects and establishments in the UAE capital, requiring them to secure an environmental license from EAD to safeguard the surrounding air quality.

Furthermore, the agency will develop executive decisions, practice guides, and necessary guidelines to implement the regulations of this system, which will be included in its annexes.

As the Chairman of EAD, Hamdan bin Zayed has issued a resolution regarding the air quality system in Abu Dhabi, aiming to preserve the environment, regulate air pollutants, and control noise levels within acceptable limits throughout the emirate.

EAD will conduct regular monitoring and assessments of ambient air quality using environmental monitoring networks, ensuring compliance with maximum limits for concentrations of air pollutants in the environment.
