Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the esteemed Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, continues to demonstrate his commitment to the development and enhancement of Sharjah’s infrastructure and amenities. In a recent announcement made during the ‘Direct Line’ programme by Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA), it was revealed that Dr. Sheikh Sultan has directed the construction of a large mosque on the main thoroughfare in Kalba, adjacent to the Hanging Gardens.
This new mosque is not just a place of worship but also serves the practical needs of the community in the area. With a seating capacity for 435 worshippers and the inclusion of a car park, the mosque is designed to accommodate both visitors and locals who frequent the area. This initiative reflects Dr. Sheikh Sultan’s vision for making religious facilities accessible and convenient for all residents.
But the mosque is just one component of a larger strategic plan for the Central Region of Sharjah. The year 2025 is poised to be a pivotal year for the region and the UAE as a whole, with several significant projects set for completion. Among these projects are the opening of a dairy factory in Mleiha, the launch of production at a chicken farm, the cultivation of organic honey, and the establishment of vegetable farms.
Moreover, Dr. Sheikh Sultan has directed the Department of Agriculture and Livestock to expand inter-cropping areas in the wheat farm to 1,900 hectares and increase the greenhouse space from two hectares to eight hectares. In addition, selected breeds of sheep will be imported and distributed in the pastures, and the dairy cow herd at Mleiha Farm will be expanded to 8,000 from 5,000, with an anticipated increase in births to 160.
The ambitious development agenda set forth by Dr. Sheikh Sultan also includes the completion of the Dhaid lagoon project by 2025. This project aims to enhance the natural beauty of the area and provide recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. By prioritizing these initiatives, Dr. Sheikh Sultan is not only improving the quality of life for the residents of Sharjah but also contributing to the overall economic growth and sustainability of the region.
In conclusion, Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi’s proactive approach to infrastructure development and investment in key projects demonstrates his unwavering dedication to the progress and prosperity of Sharjah. With his visionary leadership, the Central Region is poised to undergo significant transformation and emerge as a thriving hub of economic activity and community engagement. The future looks promising for Sharjah under the guidance of Dr. Sheikh Sultan.
