His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has revealed the impressive annual results of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative’s (MBRGI) Year in Review report for 2023. The report highlights that MBRGI, which is the largest humanitarian and aid organization in the region, invested AED 1.8 billion in projects that positively impacted the lives of 111 million individuals in 105 countries worldwide.

This significant achievement for MBRGI in 2023 is credited to a notable increase in the number of beneficiaries, reaching a total of 111 million people across 105 countries. This success solidifies MBRGI’s position as a leading humanitarian network in the region. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the organization’s role in inspiring hope and striving for a better life on a global scale.

Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commended the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian work, with MBRGI embodying a culture of creating hope. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi highlighted MBRGI’s continuous growth through increased spending and expanded projects. The organization’s focus on initiatives like the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, aiming to establish a AED 1 billion fund to support sustainable education, was also acknowledged during the event.

At the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Medal for Philanthropy” to individuals who made significant contributions to humanitarian efforts and charity campaigns, including the Mothers’ Endowment initiative. Some of the personalities honored with this medal included P.N.C Menon, Naresh Bhawnani, Mirwais Azizi, and Abdul Rahim Mohammed Belghozooz Al Zarooni.

In 2023, MBRGI’s Year in Review highlighted the organization’s impactful humanitarian, developmental, and social accomplishments through various programs and initiatives. Operational enhancements and resource optimization led to reaching 111 million beneficiaries with a spending increase to AED 1.8 billion. The organization also engaged over 160,000 volunteers and 1,028 employees, with awards worth AED 25.1 million encouraging active participation.

MBRGI operates across five key pillars, with a focus on Humanitarian Aid & Relief programs benefiting 34.4 million individuals through AED 1.1 billion in spending. Collaborations with regional and international organizations have been instrumental in the success of campaigns like the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ and ‘Bridges of Goodness.’ The International Humanitarian City marked two decades of impactful work, dispatching aid to over 1.5 million people in 2023.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, UAE Food Bank, UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), and the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy have continued to support MBRGI’s global humanitarian efforts in areas like aid, food, clean water, and other essential services.

Healthcare and Disease Control initiatives have assisted 9.4 million individuals, with AED 209 million spent on projects like the Al Jalila Foundation’s Children’s Fund and Nour Dubai’s campaigns on eye disease. Education & Knowledge initiatives impacted 62.2 million individuals through AED 242 million in spending, with programs like Dubai Cares and the Arab Reading Challenge promoting education and knowledge sharing.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship efforts received AED 138 million in funding, benefitting 1.2 million people and supporting the UAE’s digital transformation and sustainability goals. The Empowering Communities pillar impacted 3.4 million individuals with AED 87.2 million spent on initiatives like the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government’s programs.

Overall, MBRGI’s achievements in 2023 showcase the organization’s dedication to making a positive impact on a global scale, with a focus on humanitarian aid, education, innovation, and community empowerment.
