Passengers from India waiting for approval to leave Jamaica.

by Dubaiforum

Scores of individuals from India arrived in Jamaica without proper documentation on Thursday and are currently at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston awaiting clearance for their departure. This group, which includes 220 Indians, German crew members, and at least one French citizen, traveled on a chartered flight from Cairo International Airport in Egypt with a transit stop in Dubai.

The carrier, USC GmbH, is registered in Germany and operated by USC Aero, a company established in 2020 by airline professionals. The purpose of their visit to Jamaica was not immediately clear, but sources indicated that most of the Indians were en route to Nicaragua, with some destined for Canada. It was planned for the group to spend five days on the island before continuing on to their final destinations.

During their stay in Kingston, they were accommodated at the ROK Hotel at their own expense, under the supervision of immigration officers and the police. Despite the concerns about their arrival without proper documentation, the individuals were allowed to leave the hotel daily, as they were not deemed to be high-risk individuals.

The departure flight for the group is expected soon, although it remains uncertain whether all passengers who arrived on Thursday will be on this flight. Further updates on this situation are pending.
