Next Wednesday, the National Archives and the Library will hold its fifth symposium in its cultural season 2022 under the slogan “Literary Publications that Record the History of Nation”, with the participation of experts and specialists with their creative and innovative literature and research, and their literary status.
The symposium sheds light on the close relationship between literature, history and documentation, and the role that literature plays, in poetry and prose, in documenting people and places in the land of the Emirates that some historical and literary publications preserve, and this is what makes them more important. It highlights the pioneering role of the UAE and its people in the cultural scene and immortalizes it for future generations to connect them with their heritage and ancient traditions. The National Archives and National Library’s interest in the topic of this symposium stems from its current role in documenting the nation’s memory, which will be strengthened in the next phase, which will witness the establishment of the United Arab Emirates National Library, in which the UAE’s history and its literary , cultural and intellectual heritage will be preserved. It is noteworthy that the symposium will be held in Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Hall at the headquarters of the Archives and National Library of Abu Dhabi, and it will be broadcast via the Zoom platform and can be followed up on the social media platforms of the Archives and National Library.
