ABU DHABI, 3rd February, 2023 (WAM) — Rabdan Academy and Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance joint cooperation between the two Academies in the fields of international relations, diplomacy, safety, security, defence, emergency and crisis management.

The signing ceremony took place at AGDA in Abu Dhabi, where the MoU was signed by James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy; and Nickolay Mladenov, Director General of AGDA, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both institutions.

The strategic partnership between the two Academies will pave the way for an opportunity to exchange relevant knowledge and expertise, provide technical and consulting services, and develop professional academic and training programme. This will also facilitate joint research collaboration that contributes to developing diplomatic and security studies and solutions to the most complex issues in international relations.

The two Academies also seek, through this cooperation, to provide a joint platform that supports the development of diplomatic, security, and defence capacities and competencies, through the global expertise of both Academies that combine academic and specialised research education, and professional expertise at the international level.

James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, said, “This partnership will enhance the level of national resilience in the country through a joint platform that combines skills and competencies of diplomacy and international relations, and those related to safety, security, defence, emergency and crisis management. This will positively reflect on the development of an integrated set of unique and exceptional skills that provide the highest level of professional performance and keep pace with the requirements of today’s rapidly changing world.”

Nickolay Mladenov, Director General of AGDA, said, “AGDA is committed to working with local and international organisations to offer the best preparation for future diplomats. This MOU reflects our willingness to provide premier training to future diplomats in collaboration with leading UAE institutions. The Rabdan Academy is a perfect partner for this goal.”

The two Academies will form a joint working group to develop the necessary vision and mechanisms that contribute to achieving the most significant possible benefit under this fruitful strategic partnership, especially since both are specialised higher education institutions, which uniquely combine high-level academic education and professional vocational training.
