His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Councilor and Ruler of Sharjah and President of Khorfakkan University, yesterday inspected student dormitories of Khorfakkan University.
At the beginning of his tour, His Highness was briefed on the dormitory building for female students in the Al-Medifi area of Khor Fakkan, where he listened to a detailed explanation about the various facilities and services that the accommodation will include and the level of its capacity to the number of female students.
The female student residences consist of three new residential villas on an area of 10,000 square meters and contain two floors that include living spaces, a shared multi-purpose hall and an outdoor courtyard.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah moved to the student housing building located on Khorfakkan Corniche Street, where he learned about the residential content of rooms, halls and services that provide a safe and stimulating environment for studies during the period of residence.
The student residence consists of seven floors and covers an area of 7,000 square meters and includes 70 rooms and other halls and spaces that can be used for multiple purposes for entertainment or education.
His Highness was accompanied during his tour by Engineer Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of Initiatives Implementation Authority “Mubadara”, Head of Protocol and Hospitality Department, Muhammad Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of Khorfakkan University, Dr. Ahmed Al Shammaa, and a number of university officials.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi also inspected the conference center building and marine simulator complex at the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
His Highness was briefed on the plans for the facilities and contents of the building, which includes a theatre, a clinic and a multi-hall, in addition to premises for shops, a library and various services.
His Highness was briefed about the distinguished theater in the conference center, which includes 900 chairs, which were distributed in a gradual manner to provide smooth movement and enjoy seeing the stage fully, in addition to the variety of modern means and technologies used in it .
The theater will be devoted to various events, conferences, graduation ceremonies and others.
During the visit of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the building of the Naval Simulators Complex at the Academy, he visited a number of advanced scientific laboratories in the Academy for the purpose of teaching and training students in various classrooms, as well as for the purpose of training specialists , who work in maritime transport. He viewed the ship’s command center mini-labs, which include a ship simulation experience, as a training model that enables students to fully familiarize themselves with the contents of the cockpit and the roles of the ship’s captain.
Each lab includes five integrated real models of the ship’s cockpit with all its contents, navigation controls and directions, in addition to voice control and large screens to show the ship’s itinerary and how to handle various weather conditions during the ship’s journey.
His Highness also stopped at the multi-purpose training laboratory, where he was introduced to the laboratory’s computers for scientific training purposes, which include the maritime disciplines offered by the academy for students and the various science and technology tracks.
