Sharjah City Municipality has issued a warning to operators and users of investment car parks in the emirate regarding car wash services within the yards.
In a decision, the municipality clarified that it is prohibited for operators and users of investment car parks to provide or use car wash services except through companies approved by the competent authorities and authorized by the municipality to carry out this activity to avoid infringement.
The director of the public parking department, Hamed Al-Qaed, told “Emirates Today” that since the beginning of this year, the municipality has imposed around 1,700 parking spaces charges in various areas of the city, according to the annual plan set by Public parking department with the aim of providing the largest possible number of parking spaces, as the city of Sharjah is witnessing urban and population growth, and a high turnout of visitors and tourists throughout the year, especially in light of the expansion of commercial traffic.
The leader noted that the municipality is committed to improving the emirate’s civilized appearance and preserving public property by closing the offending land spaces, as it has closed 14 land parking lots since the beginning of this year, distorting the civilized appearance, after monitoring many negative behavior in them that distorts the general and aesthetic appearance of the city. Leaving vehicles in them for extended periods and parking at random leads to dust and dust collection as the municipality closed these farms after making sure there is a sufficient number of regular parking spaces in these areas.
