Dubai is set to break records once again with the construction of Al Maktoum International Airport, which is poised to become the largest airport in the world. The ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved the plans for the new passenger terminal, which is expected to have a capacity of handling 260 million passengers annually.

The ambitious project is estimated to cost over .8 billion and cover an area of 70 square kilometers. Situated in Dubai South, the commercial hub of the United Arab Emirates, the airport is set to transform the region into a global aviation and logistics center.

Plans for the airport include the development of a new city around the terminal, capable of accommodating a million residents. Sheikh Maktoum expressed his vision for the project, stating that it will attract leading companies in the logistics and air transport sectors and ensure sustainable development for future generations.

The futuristic design of the airport, featuring large terminals and innovative features, has been unveiled by the Dubai Media Office. The first phase of the project, set to cater to 150 million passengers annually, is expected to be completed in the next decade.

Dubai continues to push the boundaries of innovation and growth, positioning itself as a key player in the global aviation industry. With Al Maktoum International Airport on the horizon, the city is poised to become a hub for air travel, trade, and development on a massive scale.
