SHARJAH, 5th March, 2022 (WAM) — The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) will host the Sharjah Heritage Days from March 10 to 28 under the theme “The Heritage and the Future”.
SIH held a coordination meeting for its branches in Kalba, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Dhaid, and Al Hamriyah to put the final touches on the activities of Sharjah Heritage Days.
The meeting’s objectives were to raise awareness of Sharjah Heritage Days’ importance to consolidate heritage in the hearts of future generations, to establish a higher committee with subcommittees in the eastern and central regions, to encourage authorities, departments, and institutions to participate, and to coordinate the nineteenth Sharjah Heritage Days with all stakeholders, in addition to identifying venues and dates for the event’s activities.
Sharjah Heritage Days began in 2003 and has since evolved into a worldwide cultural heritage festival held yearly by Sharjah, bringing together world heritage in the heart of Sharjah. Sharjah Heritage Days contribute to introducing the new generation to their parents’ and grandparents’ pasts, as well as to learning about material and cultural heritage, all of which contribute to the development of a genuine generation.
