Schools around the UAE have reopened their doors on Monday and Tuesday this week to welcome students back for the new academic year, while some schools have opened for the first time to founding families. We took a glimpse around the emirates to see how schools celebrated the start of the 2022-23 academic year.
Horizon English School surprised families with stilt walkers, jugglers and unicyclist at the school gates on Tuesday morning. Children were delighted to have such a memorable return to school after the summer break.
Students at GEMS Al Khaleej International School were greeted at the school gates by mascots and entertainers and were later treated to a live stage show from children’s entertainers Adam Wa Mishmish; not an average school day at all.
Jebel Ali School set a calming tone as a saxophonist played melodic contemporary tunes, while parents and children entered the school gates for the first time since summer.
Bloom World Academy opened its doors to its founding families, who appreciated its famed flexible start time, avoiding the usual school traffic and early start. Children were also gifted with their own Bloom Bears on their first day.
Founding families of Durham School Dubai began their journey at the new school on Monday, meeting the school’s new team of teachers and exploring the newly renovated facilities.
