Tarte Maracuja Juicy Glow Tint Foundation Review (2023)

by Dubaiforum

Tarte’s been a cult-favorite beauty brand for quite some time, but its makeup launches have never been more anticipated than now. The brand nearly broke the internet when it sent a bunch of influencers on a trip to Dubai in December, its Shape Tape Concealer and Sculpt Tape Contour have gone viral a number of times in the last two years, and it’s about to make even more noise with the launch of the Maracuja Juicy Glow Tint—a buildable, medium-coverage foundation that debuts on March 2.

The product in question is part of the same line as Tarte’s best-selling Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump, so the bar is set high. The brand already has a suite of Maracuja oil-based makeup products in addition to its beloved lip plumper—a tinted moisturizer, concealer, cheek stain, and highlighter—so it was only a matter of time before foundation was added to the mix. Maracuja oil (more commonly known as passion fruit oil) is rich in antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and soothe dry skin; packed into a foundation formula, that should translate to a more even tone and radiant complexion.

I love wearing liquid foundation regularly for a more airbrushed finish of skin, and trust Tarte’s ability (not to mention staying power) to deliver that implicitly. I’ve been loyal to its Shape Tape Concealer and Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder for years. If you haven’t tried either, it’s worth mentioning that those two formulas deliver matte finishes, while the Maracuja Juicy Glow Tint was made to give you dewiness. Needless to say, I was curious about how it’d stack up to my go-to’s.

I started the application by squeezing a quarter-sized amount onto the top of my hand. I noticed immediately that the consistency was creamy but lightweight. With a buffer brush in hand, the formula blended in seamlessly and I didn’t need additional product to cover my face and neck—a little goes a long way. Because the formula is buildable, you can make it full-coverage if you’d like, but for everyday wear, the amount I used sufficed. Once the foundation set in, I began layering my concealer, Merit balm blush, bronzer, and liquid highlighter, before topping it off with setting powder to lock in my makeup and speed up the drying process. (If you skip the setting powder, I’d say the foundation takes about 10 minutes to dry.)
