The Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the qualifications of 33 candidates for the Future Leaders Program at an honors ceremony held at the Rosewood Hotel Abu Dhabi in the presence of 112 staff members nominated for the programme.
Last August, the Department of Municipalities and Transport launched the “Leaders of the Future” program under the slogan “Drive today, to be tomorrow’s leader” with the aim of strengthening and developing young Emirati cadres. The initiative was aimed at employees of the department and its affiliates who are citizens of the United Arab Emirates, for individuals under the age of 35 and holders of a bachelor’s degree or higher. The program offers several courses in influential leadership through reputable training institutions in the country according to the highest international and academic standards.
His Excellency Mohammed Falah Al Ahbabi, Head of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, in his address to the finalists at the ceremony, said the program represents the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s commitment to developing the skills of young workers in the belief that they are the bet on the future of to build and develop the country. His Excellency added: “The department places the importance of developing the citizen’s human capital and qualifying it for leadership roles among its institutional priorities, to develop and prepare the best talents and ambitious young talents and build their capabilities to join management, administrative and technical ranks within the department’s work areas.” Omar Al-Nuaimi, Director General of Institutional Affairs in the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said: “The graduates of the program will have priority to apply for supervisory and management positions and we are working in the future to organize a number of initiatives and training courses that directly contribute to provide more knowledge and develop their practical and leadership skills, to enable them to achieve more success at the professional level and participation in the sustainable development of the Emirate at all levels.”
