The field hospital comprises 75 beds on an area of 1,000 square meters and two operating rooms equipped with the latest medical equipment and units to provide emergency assistance to the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan within the framework of the emergency aid bridge that the UAE continues to work to support the humanitarian situation and help those affected by the consequences of the earthquake.
The United Arab Emirates also sent 16 tons of medical supplies and equipment and a medical team to operate the hospital and provide emergency medical services to those affected.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, had directed the delivery of emergency aid to those affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan.
Issa Salem Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Afghanistan, said the deployment of the field hospital and medical assistance come within the framework of supporting efforts to achieve a rapid response to medical emergencies for those affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan and for to help alleviate the suffering of those affected and improve their state of health.
He stressed that the deployment of medical devices and a specialized medical team fall within the scope of the UAE’s eagerness to make all the necessary demands to start operating the field hospital as soon as possible to support the medical efforts resulting from the effects of the earthquake and the presence of a number of injured persons in need of prompt medical intervention and follow-up of their sick cases.
He pointed out that the United Arab Emirates recently sent a 30-ton emergency food aid plane inside the relief bridge to the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan to support the humanitarian situation and help fill the food shortage for a large segment of families affected by the earthquake. . , especially children and women.
