Now, Abu Dhabi will be free to park and pay on Sundays.

From July 15, Abu Dhabi residents will be able to enjoy free parking and ‘Darb’ charges on Sundays instead of Fridays.

The move was announced by the Abu Dhabi Municipal and Transport Department.

The decision will help improve rush hour traffic flow and enhance road safety in the emirate.

Earlier, Dubai announced free parking on Sundays and a new four-and-a-half-day work week. That means parking will be free on Sundays instead of the previous Fridays.

Boardwalk times have also been changed to accommodate the new weekend.

However, in Sharjah, parking is a paid service from Saturday to Thursday and free on Fridays in all areas except those with blue information signs.
