The UAE has airlifted 640 tonnes of relief supplies as part of its ‘Gallant Knight/2’ operation to support those affected by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.

A total of 22 flights have been deployed so far, which included seven to Syria carrying food items and 515 tents.

Additionally, 15 flights were sent to Turkey carrying rescue and search teams, as well as a 50-bed field hospital equipped with emergency departments, operation theatres, an intensive care unit, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and X-ray and CT services.

The hospital is staffed by medical teams specialised in orthopedics, general surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, and technicians.

The ‘Gallant Knight/2’ operation was launched under the directives of the UAE leadership to provide assistance to the earthquake-affected people.
