Separately, the two Ministers also held a tripartite meeting with Catherine Colonna, the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. The trilateral process is known as “Focal Points of India, France and the UAE”, and the ministerial discussion in New York was a follow up to a meeting of senior officials of the three countries held in July.

“The three sides exchanged perspectives on the Indo-Pacific region and explored the potential areas of trilateral cooperation including Maritime Security, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, Blue Economy, Regional Connectivity, Cooperation in Multilateral Fora, Energy and Food Security, Innovation and Startups, Supply Chain Resilience and Cultural and People-to-People Cooperation,” the Indian Ministry said.

Dr. Jaishnkar is the leader of the Indian delegation for the High-Level Segment at the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly now under way in New York. In his pre-departure statement in New Delhi, the Indian Minister had said that he would meet Sheikh Abdullah in the context of the common membership of both countries at the UN Security Council and India’s forthcoming assumption of the Presidency of the G-20 group of nations.
