UAE Mission 2: Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi holds a live call from ISS with Vice-President Sheikh Mohammed

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid recently held a video call to International Space Station.

Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum talked to the Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi.

On Tuesday, NASA live-streamed ISS Expedition 68 in-flight event for the United Arab Emirates Space Agency with Sultan Al Neyadi.

The Emirati astronaut who has been in the floating laboratory for almost a week now interacted with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in his first public call to Earth.

As per Khaleej Times, Sultan AlNeyadi from aboard the International Space Station (ISS) had a live video call from 400km away from his orbital outpost with none other than the UAE vice president who was on the other end of the line.

AlNeyadi talked about how his body is still adjusting and coping with microgravity aboard the International Space Station (ISS) while speaking with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

AlNeyadi, UAE’s second astronaut who is on the longest Arab space mission is now on the sixth day of his six-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Sheikh Mohammed shared images from his live video call with AlNeyadi on his official Twitter account.

As per the news outlet, the astronaut told Sheikh Mohammed about their schedule on ISS and also thanked him for keeping his promise of sending more astronauts to space after UAE’s first astronaut, Hazzaa AlMansoori who went to ISS for eight days in September 2019.

Dubai Media office also shared the video of the five-minute video call on their official Twitter account.

The Emirati astronaut along with his crewmates including NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen, Warren Hoburg, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, safely docked Crew Dragon Endeavour on the orbiting space laboratory on Friday last week.
