ABU DHABI, 9th December 2022 (WAM) — The UAE participated in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) as part of the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Economic Forum, in Marrakesh.
The Forum is attended by more than 300 representatives from 25 national and regional parliaments, and more than 50 delegations from international organisations, the private sectors, academia and the civil society.
The event is structured into six Plenary Sessions, focusing on different strategic issues, including climate change.
Aisha Mohamed Al Mulla, Member of the Federal National Council, represented the UAE in the event.
“In addition to the significant number of people who perish each year as a result of climate change and the 20% of marine species that are threatened with extinction, climate change constitutes a serious and long-term threat to all peoples and communities of the world,” she said while addressing the meeting.
