ABU DHABI, 14th March, 2022 (WAM) — Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Boris Kollár , Speaker of the National Council of Slovak Republic, who is currently visiting the UAE.

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the importance of developing parliamentary ties, in line with the privileged relations between the UAE and Slovakia.

They exchange views over issues of mutual concern, along with ways of promoting communication and exchanging visits.

Ghobash pointed out the growing relations between the UAE and Slovakia and their keenness to reinforce them in all areas, most notably in security, technology, commerce, industry and digitisation.

“Since its formation by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE is a peace-loving country that believes in not intervening in the internal affairs of states. Its culture is based on the values of tolerance and coexistence, and we believe that peace is the cornerstone of our relations with all countries,” he said.

Kollár highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two friendly countries, which are witnessing significant development, referring to several agreements signed by the two nations, including a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint economic committee.

The two countries share common views on various issues, notably their growing interest in future – orietned sustainable development, he added.
