The winners, including the father of three, said they often entered the lottery, but this was the first time they had won
It was a big day for UAE nationals in the 95th Mahzooz Draw, when 22 people won and shared the second prize of Dh1 million. Excited Emiratis Saood, Naser and Nasir received Dh45,454 each.
Over the past two years, more than 6,000 UAE nationals have won more than AED5 million in prize money.
As soon as Saood, Naser and Nasir learned of their winnings, they celebrated with a small but wholesome family gathering. Although they often participate in the lottery, this is the first prize they have won, and they are grateful to hear about it.
“I have participated in Mahzooz several times, almost regularly, but I don’t think I will win,” said Saood, 43. “I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I won Dh45,454.”
Nasir, the second lucky winner, echoed a similar sentiment, saying: “I picked my numbers at random without any expectations, thinking my chances might be slim. It’s an honour to be the winner and I’m grateful Mazuz gave me this opportunity,”
The third recipient, Naser, added: “As an aspiring investor and father of three, this award is a thoughtful gift to us that will aid my future endeavors.”
A new batch of 1,381 winners, announced on Saturday, September 24, took home AED 1,774,600, including three lucky expats who each received up to AED 100,000 after winning the weekly draw .
