The Emirates Red Crescent Authority implemented the eighth phase of the campaign to combat eye diseases in the Kingdom of Morocco, under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation , Honorary President of the Red Crescent Authority (Mother of the Emirates) Provides health care to thousands of cases suffering from health symptoms in the villages and remote Moroccan regions.
A delegation from the Authority is currently visiting Morocco to carry out a series of humanitarian missions, led by Secretary-General Dr. Muhammad Atiq Al-Falahi, and witnessed the launch of the activities at this stage of the campaign.
27,000 people have benefited from the medical campaign program in a number of Moroccan regions, which included performing cataract surgery and implanting lenses using advanced surgical techniques, in addition to performing early medical detection for glaucoma patients and delivering the necessary medication and glasses to the targets. From the campaign, with the participation of consulting doctors and specialists in ophthalmology. Since its inception, the campaign has included field visits to dozens of Moroccan schools, where thousands of students were examined and glasses were given to those suffering from vision problems.
Dr. Muhammad Ateeq Al-Falahi stressed that the Morocco campaign supports the initiatives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to reduce the health problems of the vulnerable segments and groups, and embodies the growing role of Her Highness in meeting the humanitarian, health and development needs for people and communities suffering from the harshest conditions. This campaign also meets the aspirations of the rational leadership and UAE strategy of sustainability by providing through the implementation of ambitious development programs and projects that have a profound impact on improving the capacity of these communities, to provide essential services in health, education , social issues and improving the conditions of motherhood and childhood.
Al-Falahi added that the Red Crescent Authority attaches great importance to this campaign and is working to improve its activities and expand the umbrella of its recipients in various Moroccan regions and rural areas far from the main cities. He suggested that the authority has always been a mainstay and a strong supporter of the Moroccan people. He said: The campaign to combat eye diseases is a real addition to the efforts of our national authority and a qualitative leap for its humanitarian initiatives in Morocco.
He thanked and appreciated the authority’s partners in carrying out the campaign in the Moroccan arena, led by the country’s embassy in Rabat, the Moroccan Ministry of Health and the Moroccan Medical Association for Solidarity.
