WATCH: Launch of longest Arab space mission in history

The live broadcast for the launch of the longest Arab space mission has begun.

The Crew-6 are scheduled for lift off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida at 10:45 am (UAE time) on Monday.  

UAE’s astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi will be carrying out the mission for six-months aboard the International Space Station.

The ground support team conducts a final inspection of Al Neyadi’s suit before entering the Dragon spacecraft.

And, moments before entering the Dragon spacecraft, Al Neyadi signs on the white wall as per protocol.

Crew-6 will have a few pre-launch traditions before they liftoff to the International Space Station. Here is a glimpse into them.
