In conjunction with World Food Safety Day, which falls on June 7 each year under the slogan “Safer Food for Better Health”, Dubai Municipality hosted a series of scientific and awareness-raising events and workshops emphasizing that this year’s slogan is an expression of its approach. towards the importance of implementing food safety procedures to improve the health of the community through the implementation of an integrated system that ensures the delivery of high quality safe food in the Emirate of Dubai.
Dubai is considered one of the most important food trade centers in the world, and its stores receive more than eight million tons of food annually, imported from around 200 countries, in addition to providing more than a billion meals annually to tourists who prefer to visit it in their vacations.
Al-Hajri emphasized the municipality’s eagerness to develop food security services through the use of modern technologies to ensure that institutions comply with health requirements and procedures for transport, preparation and display of products and food, based on the department’s responsibilities to society, partners, all dealers, workers and suppliers.
