Enhancing Global Food Safety: The Third Dubai Food Safety Forum
On June 7, coinciding with World Food Safety Day, Dubai Municipality convened its third Dubai Food Safety Forum, uniting an array of global experts dedicated to fortifying science-driven food safety policies and enhancing the resilience of supply chains. Themed “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected,” the forum served as a pivotal platform for discussion on the critical role of food safety in today’s unpredictable climate.
The event attracted representatives from notable organizations, including the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. This diverse assemblage comprised public, private, and academic stakeholders, all converging to share insights that aim to reinforce a sustainable food system, underpinned by informed consumer choices and advanced technological integration.
Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, accentuated the importance of the Forum as a catalyst for future-focused discussions. He articulated the necessity to preemptively address challenges that may impact food safety, thereby nurturing a smart and safe food ecosystem. “Food safety starts with knowledge and excellence-driven solutions,” he stated, further elaborating on Dubai’s steadfast commitment to both global food standards and the health of its community.

In a notable announcement, the Forum revealed plans for the 19th Dubai International Food Safety Conference, scheduled for November 17-19, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
