Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority Announces Holiday Schedule for Eid al-Adha
As the region prepares to celebrate Eid al-Adha, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has unveiled its operational timetable for various public transportation services, aiming to facilitate smooth travel during this festive period. The adjusted schedules reflect the authority’s commitment to accommodating the increased demand for transportation while ensuring public safety and convenience.
According to RTA’s announcement, from June 4 to June 7, the Dubai Metro will operate extended hours, with the Red and Green line stations open from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. the following day. The Dubai Tram service will also run from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. each day during the same period. This extended schedule is designed to cater to the numerous residents and visitors who will be traveling for family gatherings and celebrations associated with Eid al-Adha.
In an effort to promote the efficient movement of passengers, RTA has advised that Bus route E100 will not be in service from Al Ghubiba Bus Station between June 4 and June 8. Passengers who typically rely on this route can take advantage of alternative services, specifically Bus route E101, which operates from Ibn Battuta Bus Station. Furthermore, Bus route E102 will directly connect Al Jafiliya station to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, bypassing Ibn Battuta and Musaffah stations, to streamline airport access for travelers.
Recognizing the importance of free parking during this festive occasion, RTA will offer complimentary public parking from June 5 to June 9, with the exception of multi-level parking facilities. This initiative aligns with the authority’s goal to alleviate the stress of holiday transportation, accommodating the influx of individuals visiting the UAE’s bustling malls and cultural sites during this time of celebration.
However, RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres will operate under a modified schedule over the holiday. Only smart service centers located in Umm Ramool, Deira, Barsha, and the RTA’s main office will remain open. Traditional service provider centers will be closed from June 5 through June 7, with operations slated to resume on June 8. Notably, inspection centers, including Tasjeel Al Tawar in Al Mankhool, Al Yalayis, and Shamil Muhaisnah, will open on the same day, allowing vehicle inspections and related transactions to proceed. Regular official transactions will commence again on June 9.
This holiday schedule reflects RTA’s proactive approach in ensuring that the public has access to the necessary transportation services during a high-demand period. The measures taken, including free parking and the extended hours of operation, are vital for enhancing the overall experience of both residents and tourists during the Eid celebrations.
The Eid al-Adha holiday is not only a time for personal reflection and religious observance but also serves as an occasion for families and communities to come together. The decisions made by the RTA underscore the authority’s dedication to providing exceptional service during one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar. With careful planning and a focus on community needs, Dubai aims to showcase its hospitality and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all who reside in or visit the emirate.
As this festive holiday approaches, the RTA’s strategic planning and communication will undoubtedly aid in creating a seamless experience for travelers. As the celebrations unfold, attention will remain on the organization’s diligence in ensuring safe and efficient transportation services throughout the UAE.
