Created by Jaeger-LeCoultre for watchmaking enthusiasts and the general public alike, “The Stellar Odyssey” exhibition is an opportunity to discover the mysteries of the universe and their translation into micromechanical marvels.
The first stop on this exploration of the wonders of the celestial vault is held in a spectacular pavilion that seems to float on the waters of the Dubai Fountain, at the foot of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.
L’Atelier d’Antoine has relocated to Dubai.
“The millennial cultures of the Middle East were true precursors to the development of the first methods of measuring time,
” explains Catherine Rénier, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
We are delighted that Dubai is the first city to host “The Stellar Odyssey”.
This is the perfect opportunity to trace the unbroken thread of the exceptional millennial heritage in which the innovation of our House has been part of for 190 years.
An exhibition in eight chapters.
The exhibition explores in eight chapters the creative and cultural universe of watchmaking inspired by astronomy.
At the very beginning of their journey, visitors discover the very origins of time, the influence of celestial phenomena on the way we measure it and the beginnings of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s expertise in creating astronomical complications.
The following five chapters each highlight a different cosmic phenomenon, illustrated by rare historical watches as well as models from the latest collections.
An exhibition in the center of Dubai.
Throughout the rooms, visitors can discover a carefully selected anthology of some of the Manufacture’s most remarkable timepieces, presented alongside the latest models inspired by the firmament, whether it be the spectacular Atmos clock or the Reverso. Hybris Mechanica Caliber 185. L’Atelier d’Antoine is an opportunity to follow practical educational discovery workshops on the theme of the stellar odyssey.
Finally, in the heart of the main pavilion, under a geodesic dome, an immersive digital show takes visitors on a virtual odyssey through time and space.
We discover the mysteries of the cosmos in five episodes, exploring the infinity of space and some 13.7 billion years, from the origins of our universe to the present day.
An exceptional Atmos.
In front of the exhibition pavilion in the heart of Dubai, the installation Passengers: Through Time by Guillaume Marmin combines effects of light, sound and movement with a complexity that revolutionizes the concepts of sculpture, space and time.
For his Atelier Stellaire, Matthias Giroud has put together a menu of exceptional non-alcoholic cocktails inspired by the cosmos, and more particularly by the colours, climates and shapes of our celestial stars: a fusion between classic ingredients and flavors and fragrances typical of the Vallée de Joux.
