ABU DHABI, 26th October, 2023 (WAM) — The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, concluded its participation in the 2023 World Combat Games in Riyadh with four gold medals. The exceptional performance marks the latest achievement of the team’s impressive international events this year.
Khaled Al Shehhi and Abdullah Al Kubaisi secured gold in the 62 kg and 94 kg categories, respectively, joining their teammates Saeed Al Kubaisi (85 kg) and Omar Al Suwaidi (56 kg), who also clinched gold on Tuesday.
Fahad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and head of the team’s delegation to the tournament, said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the National Team for this well-deserved achievement, which underscores the UAE’s dominance on the international jiu-jitsu stage.”
Meanwhile, Al Shehhi dedicated his gold medal to the wise leadership and the people of the UAE. He emphasised his commitment to continuous hard work to advance his career and contribute to the team’s continental and global success.
