‘New Codeshare Agreement Launched by Two Airlines’

by Dubaiforum

Emirates (EK) and Avianca (AV) have announced a new codeshare agreement that will enhance connectivity for passengers traveling between Dubai (DXB) and Colombia. This partnership will offer seamless connections on select routes, making it easier than ever to travel between these destinations via key European gateways.

This latest collaboration expands Emirates’ extensive network by providing direct connections to three popular Colombian cities: Bogotá (BOG), Medellín (MDE), and Cali (CLO). The codeshare flights will operate through Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN), or London Heathrow (LHR), offering convenient options for travelers. These flights include routes such as MAD to BOG, MDE, or CLO; BCN to BOG; and LHR to BOG.

Passengers on these codeshare routes can expect to experience the luxury and comfort of Emirates’ aircraft, including amenities such as lie-flat seats in Business and First Class, a top-notch in-flight entertainment system, and a selection of delicious onboard dining options.

One of the key benefits of this codeshare agreement is the streamlined booking process for travelers. Both Emirates and Avianca passengers can now book their entire itinerary on a single ticket, simplifying the travel experience and eliminating the need to manage separate reservations. Additionally, both airlines will adhere to a single baggage policy, ensuring a hassle-free journey from check-in to final destination.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President, and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “The codeshare agreement will enable us to expand our reach and allow our customers to use our services and fly to additional popular points in Colombia.”

Similarly, Claudio Vélez, Chief Revenue Officer of Avianca, emphasized the benefits of the collaboration, saying, “This collaboration will bring our region closer to Dubai via Europe and it will also strengthen Avianca’s operation in Barcelona, Madrid, and London Heathrow.”

Overall, the new codeshare agreement between Emirates and Avianca aims to provide passengers with increased connectivity, flexibility, and comfort while traveling between Dubai, Colombia, and key European destinations.
