DP World’s New Global Headquarters Takes Shape in Dubai’s Expo City
In a groundbreaking advancement for global trade and innovation, DP World is progressing with the construction of its splendid new global headquarters in Expo City, Dubai. This remarkable eight-storey structure is meticulously designed to represent the ethos of sustainability and the vanguard of future trade.
A ceremonial event signifying the completion of the foundation was recently conducted at the construction site. Esteemed attendees included Reem Al Hashimy, the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority. The ceremony was led by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, alongside Najeeb Mohammed AlAli, Executive Director of Expo City Dubai Authority, and Engineer Ahmed Al Khatib, Chief Development and Delivery Officer for the Expo City project.
Anticipated to be finalized by 2027, DP World’s new headquarters will serve as a pivotal hub for connectivity and collaboration on a global scale. This edifice aims not only to set a new standard for sustainable workspace design in the region but also to symbolize Dubai’s ongoing evolution as a leader in international trade.
A distinctive feature of the design is a striking 10.45-meter cantilever, presenting an illusion of the building floating above its surroundings. Covering an expansive area of 301,940 square feet, the facility is anticipated to accommodate approximately 850 staff members and attract up to 2,000 visitors each day. The structure will be accessible to the public on its first two levels, which will house various amenities, including cafes, restaurants, and meeting rooms, all designed to enhance interpersonal dynamics and foster collaboration.
Moreover, the centerpiece of the complex will include the Flow Pavilion and fountain, originally crafted for Expo 2020 Dubai. This iconic installation was viewed by over 1.2 million visitors during the Expo and will be preserved as a permanent representation of DP World’s mission to facilitate global trade flow.
Highlighting the commitment to innovative solutions, the design integrates the Middle East’s first fully automated parking facility of this scale, capable of housing almost 1,000 vehicles, with a dedicated section for electric vehicles. This nod to modernity and ecological responsibility will surely resonate with the region’s increasing emphasis on sustainability.
Minister Al Hashimy underscored the significance of the project by stating, “Expo City Dubai was built as a platform for innovation, sustainability, and global connection—values that perfectly align with DP World’s vision for the future of trade. We are delighted to welcome their new headquarters here, which will stand as a symbol of Dubai’s continued role as a catalyst for progress and collaboration worldwide.”
In a related statement, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem articulated the broader implications of this construction milestone, asserting, “Marking this construction milestone at Expo City is more than just progress on a new building. It symbolizes the commencement of DP World’s next chapter. Our headquarters will be a venue where technology, sustainability, and talent converge to shape the future of trade. Just as Dubai has continuously reinvented itself, DP World is dedicated to evolving beyond traditional ports to deliver smarter, greener, and more resilient supply chains for our customers and communities globally.”
