by Dubaiforum

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has unveiled plans for a new luxury property in the heart of Rome, set to open its doors in 2026. Adding to their already impressive Italian portfolio, which includes properties in Milan and Lake Como, the group will also soon open hotels in Cortina and Porto Cervo. Teaming up with Merope Asset Management, a leading Italian Real Estate investment and development company, Mandarin Oriental aims to create an unparalleled experience in Rome.

The upcoming Mandarin Oriental, Rome will be housed in ten 19th-century villas originally built for wealthy Romans and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. Guests and visitors will have the opportunity to wander through the serene neighborhood while being just steps away from the city’s main attractions and archaeological sites.

With 108 guestrooms and suites that offer views of the stunning gardens or iconic city landmarks, the new property will provide a unique urban retreat experience. Many of the suites will boast private gardens and terraces, elevating the luxury quotient. Award-winning designers Gilles & Boissier, known for their contemporary interiors at esteemed locations like Baccarat Hotel in New York, will curate the interior design.

Mandarin Oriental, Rome will feature six distinct dining venues, including options for al fresco dining and a stand-alone dining concept in one of the villas. The Mandarin Bar on the rooftop terrace is expected to offer captivating city views, becoming a sought-after destination for guests and locals alike. Additionally, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer large indoor and outdoor pools set amidst the lush gardens for a relaxing and pampering experience.

Nestled between Via Piemonte and Via Sallustiana within The Gardens of Sallust, a historic Roman site, the secluded property will provide guests with a glimpse into the grandeur of Rome’s past. Close proximity to major cultural and leisure sites like the Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain make Mandarin Oriental, Rome an ideal destination.

The collaboration between Mandarin Oriental and Merope Asset Management aims to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience in Rome, leveraging the unique historical and cultural heritage of the city. This new property will compete with other top luxury hotels in Rome, ensuring a luxurious and unforgettable stay for guests.
