UAE: RAK mall gets evacuated as fire breaks out on the roof

A fire recently broke out in RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah.

A shopping centre in Ras Al Khaimah was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out.

As per Khaleej Times, no casualties were reported and the firefighters successfully put out the blaze. The authorities also ensured the health and safety of all tenants and shoppers.

The videos of a thick plume of black smoke coming out of the mall have been circulating on the social media.

According to the new outlet, the Civil Defence team was immediately dispatched to the location. With some help from the mall management, the Civil Defence team managed to control the blaze on the roof of the mall.

Rapid intervention teams with emergency services arrived at the scene soon after and the fire was extinguished. Visitors and tenants of the mall were safely evacuated.

The authorities put the health and safety of all the people present as the top priority and no injuries were reported.

“Following a small fire that took place on the roof of the RAK Mall, Line Investments & Property confirm that the mall management took all necessary precautions to contain the fire,” said the mall management in a statement, “the mall is back to normal operations.”

The RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE opened in the year 2012. The mall is home to a wide range of retail and leisure venues across its three floors.

The RAK Mall also have an ice rink, a theatre, and indoor go-karting for entertainment.
