Dubai, UAE – In a notable development within the aviation support sector, Al Saeedi Group, the largest distributor of industrial and Off-Highway tyres in the United Arab Emirates, has solidified its commitment to dnata by extending their multi-million Dirham contract for an additional five years. This agreement, which underscores the long-lasting partnership between the two organizations, will ensure the continued provision of comprehensive tyre solutions for dnata’s extensive fleet operating at two of Dubai’s major airports: Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).
Under the terms of this renewed agreement, Al Saeedi Group will deliver a full spectrum of tyre-related services, encompassing supply, repair, and fitting for dnata’s substantial asset base, which includes over 2,300 motorized and approximately 8,300 unmotorized vehicles. These vehicles play a crucial role in dnata’s operations, which encompass ground handling, cargo transportation, passenger movement, and inflight catering services, making the reliability and safety of their fleet paramount.
The collaboration goes beyond mere supply; Al Saeedi Group has been entrusted with the management of the primary tyre storage facility located within dnata’s Technical Services (dTS) Workshop at Dubai International Airport. This strategic location allows Al Saeedi’s technical team to perform on-site tyre fitting and repair services, ensuring operational continuity and safety for dnata’s diverse range of vehicles and equipment.
This contract renewal is indicative of dnata’s confidence in Al Saeedi Group’s services, which have consistently contributed to heightened safety standards, reduced downtime, and improved operational efficiency at both airport facilities. As the aviation industry continues to recover from the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining high operational standards is essential for airports aiming to cater to increasing passenger numbers and enhanced service expectations.
Robert Powell, Vice President of Technical Services for dnata in the UAE, underscored the significance of this partnership by stating, “Tyre selection and serviceability are critical contributors to the safety, operational efficiency, and financial performance of our fleet. Al Saeedi has demonstrated its technical expertise, commercial capability, and ability to support a wide range of specialist Ground Support Equipment (GSE) tyres.” He further emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in infrastructure and equipment to ensure that service delivery remains both safe and efficient across their operations.
Anish Malattiri, the Managing Director of Al Saeedi Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the extended partnership, stating that it reflects the trust built over more than three decades of collaboration. “We are delighted that dnata has extended our partnership for another five years, covering operations at both Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports. This agreement is a recognition of the trust placed in us over more than three decades, and we remain committed to delivering the highest standards of tyre solutions, services, and innovations,” he noted. Malattiri assured that Al Saeedi will continue to invest in technologies that enhance tyre performance and operational efficiency, thus bolstering dnata’s ability to provide world-class airport services.
Currently, Al Saeedi Group offers a diverse portfolio of tyre brands to dnata, including internationally recognized names such as Solideal, Michelin, Triangle, Goodyear, Continental, Yokohama, Rader Vogel, Bridgestone, TVS Eurogrip, and Durotrack. This extensive range ensures that dnata’s airport vehicle fleets are equipped with high-quality tyres capable of meeting demanding operational requirements.
The extension of this contract not only strengthens the ties between Al Saeedi Group and dnata but also reinforces the importance of strategic partnerships in the broader economic landscape of the UAE, particularly within the aviation sector. As the country positions itself as a pivotal global hub for air travel and logistics, reliable ground support services will play an increasingly vital role in sustaining the growth trajectory of the aviation industry in the region.
