Tabreed Connects City Tower 1 to Sustainable Cooling Network in Dubai
In a significant stride toward sustainable infrastructure development, Tabreed, a leading district cooling company, has successfully established a vital connection to City Tower 1, an ambitious 93-storey project developed by H&H Group. This connection delivers an impressive cooling capacity of 5,300 Refrigeration Tons (RT) from Tabreed’s existing district cooling plant located in Al Satwa.
Perched majestically at 362.8 meters, City Tower 1 stands as one of the tallest residential edifices in Dubai, strategically situated opposite the Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future along the bustling Sheikh Zayed Road. The development comprises 695 diverse living spaces that range from studio apartments to expansive four-bedroom residences, alongside four floors of commercial office space and two retail units. Additionally, the tower boasts a comprehensive suite of amenities that includes gym facilities, indoor and outdoor playgrounds for children, swimming pools for both adults and children, a mini soccer field, and two padel courts.
This partnership between H&H Group and Tabreed is emblematic of a broader commitment to transforming urban living standards through the implementation of state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions that prioritize comfort and efficiency. The integration of Tabreed’s cutting-edge cooling system within City Tower 1 is a testament to H&H Group’s dedication to creating premier destinations within the region.
Khalid Al Marzooqi, the chief executive officer of Tabreed, expressed pride in the company’s role within the iconic landscape of the UAE. He remarked, “Tabreed is proud to contribute to the development of the UAE’s most iconic real estate projects by delivering sustainable, reliable solutions that support national growth and energy efficiency objectives. Connecting City Tower 1 to one of our pre-existing networks clearly demonstrates our commitment to Dubai’s continued progress.”
Indeed, Tabreed has made its mark on the city’s infrastructure, providing essential cooling solutions to significant landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and Dubai Opera through its extensive Downtown Dubai network. Al Marzooqi emphasized, “Tabreed is a force for good in the UAE and continues to play an essential role in enabling the region’s urban transformation while creating lasting value for developers, investors, and communities alike.”
Miltos Bosinis, the chief executive officer of H&H Group, added to this narrative by highlighting the transformative vision behind City Tower 1. “This structure is a landmark addition to the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline and reflects H&H’s ambition to redefine Dubai’s urban landscape. With this development, we are introducing a new standard of living that combines our signature quality with a level of service designed for today’s discerning tenants. City Tower 1 speaks directly to the future of the city; innovative, connected, and uncompromising in excellence.”
This connection between City Tower 1 and Tabreed comes at a pivotal moment for the company. In May 2025, Tabreed announced an exclusive concession for 250,000 RT at Palm Jebel Ali, in collaboration with Dubai Holding Investments. This achievement fortifies Tabreed’s involvement in one of the most ambitious master-planned communities in Dubai. Furthermore, in an industry-altering deal the following month, Tabreed, in partnership with CVC DIF, acquired PAL Cooling Holding, thereby adding over 182,000 RT of connected capacity in Abu Dhabi and establishing a long-term growth trajectory with the potential for an additional 600,000 RT.
These landmark agreements not only underscore Tabreed’s position as a critical partner in the region’s infrastructure landscape but also highlight its dedication to fostering sustainable development. With a 27-year history of pioneering cooling solutions, Tabreed is firmly entrenched in the drive towards transformative urban growth across the UAE.
As cooling technologies evolve and the emphasis on sustainable practices intensifies, Tabreed’s strategic advancements embody a response to increasing demands for energy-efficient solutions in a rapidly developing urban context. The connection of City Tower 1 and Tabreed’s proactive role in significant projects reinforce an unwavering commitment to creating a sustainable and modern urban environment that meets the needs of its residents and enhances the quality of life in one of the Middle East’s most dynamic cities.
