The planned facility will be developed in two distinct phases. Initially, the first phase will focus on producing six gigawatt-hours (GWh) of storage capacity, with production expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027. Upon successful completion of a second phase, the facility’s capacity will expand to an ambitious 18 GWh. As Saudi Arabia aspires to implement 130 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy and achieve 48 GWh of energy storage in support of its goal of generating 50% of its power from clean sources, this manufacturing facility will act as a vital instrument.
