Sheikh Zayed International Academy (SZIA) in Islamabad recently hosted its annual International Day Function with the theme “Embracing Global Unity.” The event aimed to celebrate diversity and inclusivity within the SZIA community. Representatives from 20 embassies attended, engaging in cultural exchange and promoting intercultural dialogue.
Prominent UAE-based entities, such as Emirates and Etihad Airways, showcased their hospitality and innovation at the event. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about these leading aviation companies and their contributions to global connectivity and tourism.
A highlight of the evening was a lucky draw with prizes that included return tickets to Dubai courtesy of Emirates and Etihad Airways. SZIA students performed various cultural displays, including a captivating Palestinian Dabka dance and gymnastics routines.
The event also featured a touching tribute to mothers for their support, multilingual greetings from preschool performers, and acknowledgments of the school’s administrative and support staff. H.E Aisha Juma Saeed Al Naqbi, Head of Visa Centre at the UAE Embassy, emphasized the importance of embracing diversity in her inspiring address.
Mrs. Wafaa Abdul Gaffer, Principal of SZIA, expressed gratitude for the school’s diverse community and commitment to creating an inclusive environment. The International Day Function 2024 was a success, highlighting SZIA’s dedication to nurturing global citizens who respect cultural differences and work towards a more inclusive world. Attendees were invited to join the International Cultural Parade, showcasing the world’s diverse cultures as the event came to a close.
