Euroclear Foundation Partners with Junior Achievement Europe to Empower Underserved Youth

The Euroclear Foundation has unveiled a transformative multi-year strategic partnership with Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) aimed at empowering underserved young people through entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy initiatives. This collaboration, which will roll out over the next three academic years, is set to benefit approximately 20,000 youth across 14 countries where Euroclear has a significant operational presence.

The partnership encompasses a vast geographical spectrum, extending its reach to Belgium, China, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A notable aspect of this initiative is the engagement of Euroclear employees, who will volunteer their time to mentor and provide skills-based instruction. This engagement is designed to furnish young participants with real-world insights into the professional landscape, thereby enhancing their confidence, employability, and readiness for career opportunities.

By integrating a new financial literacy and business planning module into JA Boost, Junior Achievement’s innovative AI-powered learning companion, the Euroclear Foundation aims to fortify JA’s existing curriculum. JA Boost will be disseminated across Junior Achievement’s global network, which spans 54 countries, offering personalized, technology-driven guidance to help youth develop essential business and financial planning competencies.

This initiative coincides perfectly with the missions of both the Euroclear Foundation and JA Europe, which are aligned in their pursuit of creating expanded pathways to success for young individuals faced with socio-economic challenges. By dismantling barriers to opportunity, the partnership is poised to foster inclusivity, improve educational outcomes, and broaden access to employment. The recent expansion builds on an 11-year relationship between the two organizations, reinforcing their commitment to equipping young people with the skills, mentorship, and resources necessary to navigate an increasingly intricate global economy.

Mei Li Powell, Chief Executive of the Euroclear Foundation, expressed the significance of this partnership, stating, “We are delighted to be taking our partnership with Junior Achievement to the next level by focusing on reaching youth that are underserved. By supporting those furthest from opportunity with JA’s proven programs, we are helping to build bridges to economic inclusion and social mobility – thereby strengthening communities and contributing to more socially sustainable societies.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Salvatore Nigro, CEO of JA Europe, affirmed the collaborative spirit of this initiative, asserting, “We are proud to deepen our collaboration with the Euroclear Foundation. Together, we are mobilizing talent and innovation to equip underserved youth with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in an increasingly complex world.”

The Euroclear Foundation, established in 2024, reflects Euroclear’s commitment to generating a lasting positive impact within the communities it serves. Its mission revolves around the empowerment of underserved youth through education, skills development, and structured pathways to employment. In doing so, it endeavors to mobilize Euroclear’s extensive resources and talent to catalyze systemic change.

Junior Achievement Europe, recognized as the preeminent organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people for success across the continent, boasts a remarkable legacy. For over a century, JA Worldwide has been a pioneer in providing experiential learning opportunities in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce preparation. During the last academic year alone, the JA Europe network facilitated over 7.5 million learning experiences across various formats, including online, in-person, and hybrid models. The organization also engages a multitude of volunteers, contributing more than 95,500 teaching experiences and 86,500 mentoring opportunities.

As the economic landscape evolves in response to global challenges, initiatives such as this partnership between the Euroclear Foundation and Junior Achievement Europe serve as essential conduits for cultivating a skilled, confident, and inclusive future generation. Providing young people with the tools to succeed in their careers not only builds individual resilience but also fosters stronger, more cohesive communities capable of thriving in the face of change.
