FUJAIRAH, 18th October, 2023 (WAM) — The Fujairah Culture and Media Authority has emphasised that the Global Media Congress (GMC), which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, from 14 to 16 November, is a new testimony of the UAE’s position as one of the most significant hubs concerned with shaping and exploring the future of media sector.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Nasser Muhammad Hamid Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, said that the UAE has succeeded, through a series of annual media events, conferences, forums, and exhibitions, in transforming itself into an influential regional and international media centre for shaping and exploring the future of the media sector, in light of the transformations, changes, and challenges it is witnessing globally.
He said that media professionals in the UAE and the region should take advantage of the many media events, exhibitions, and forums that are held in the country each year. He stressed that these events are a great opportunity to learn new skills and tools, and to adopt creative practices and technologies. This will help them to produce reliable and sober media content that conveys the country’s cultural, humanitarian, and development message to the world.
Al Yamahi added that the GMC, organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in partnership with the Emirates News Agency, at ADNEC Abu Dhabi, is of great importance due to the richness of its agenda, which represents an important opportunity to exchange and transfer expertise and get acquainted with the best international practices, and find out the most prominent analyses and opinions related to the future of the media sector.
The first edition of the congress, held under the theme, “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry”, witnessed the participation of more than 200 CEOs, along with more than 1,200 media sector leaders, specialists and global influencers representing six continents in the world, and included 30 dialogue sessions and 40 workshops in which more than 162 prominent international speakers had participated.
