Ministry of Defence celebrates graduation of 1st batch of technical training project in Greece

ATHENS, 31st May, 2023 (WAM) — The Ministry of Defence celebrated the graduation of 1st batch of its technical training project in Greece.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Staff Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Sulaiman Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to Greece, several officers and officials from the Ministry of Defence, Arab and Greek academics, faculty members and project employees.

During the event, one of the graduates delivered a speech that expressed his gratitude to the project’s management and the academic establishment for their keenness to enhance their skills, thanking, along with his fellow graduates, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for allowing them to study in Greece.

Major General Staff Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan and the senior officials then toured the academic establishment, where they explored the students’ projects and were briefed about the showcased technical products.

The project in Greece aims to contribute to the country’s technological and professional advancement. It is part of the Ministry of Defence’s strategy to create a generation of Emirati citizens technicians with scientific qualifications, experiences and the latest knowledge.

At the end of the event, Major General Staff Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan honoured the outstanding students, lauding their outstanding performance.
