My Inaugural International Experience at the OMODA & JAECOO Ten-Nation Hybrid Marathon in Wuhu, China

When I received the exciting news that I was to represent All About Wheels at the OMODA & JAECOO Ten-Nation Hybrid Marathon held in Wuhu, China, a wave of exhilaration washed over me. Yet, it was laced with a hint of trepidation, as this opportunity marked my very first international marathon drive. What lay ahead was uncertain, and I had no inkling of the thrilling and transformative experience that awaited me.
The event, which formed part of the OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit 2025, attracted enthusiasts, media, and automotive experts from ten different countries, all converging to explore the frontiers of hybrid innovation. Over the course of two exhilarating days, we traversed more than 600 kilometers along some of the most picturesque routes imaginable, winding through the enchanting landscapes of South Anhui, Mount Huangshan, and Wuhu. The scenery often felt surreal, resembling the enchanting backdrops from film sets, characterized by misty peaks, shimmering lakes, and ancient villages that seamlessly merged into the horizon.
During this venture, I had the privilege of driving the OMODA 7 SHS-P, a hybrid vehicle that exemplifies cutting-edge automotive technology. The drive was marked by an impressive smoothness, with a level of performance and stability that remained consistent even on steep gradients and intricate mountain curves. Boasting a remarkable combined range of over 1,100 kilometers and an average fuel consumption of merely 4.8 liters per 100 kilometers, the OMODA 7 epitomizes the notion that eco-friendliness need not come at the expense of power and comfort.
One notable aspect that struck me was the tranquility pervading the cabin. Even while cruising at highway speeds, the advanced noise-cancellation technology and double-layer soundproofing created an atmosphere of luxury and serenity. This auditory experience made it easy to forget that I was partaking in a high-performance hybrid test; at times, it felt akin to enjoying a leisurely excursion through nature. As a frequent driver in bustling urban environments like Dubai, it became clear to me how well-suited these models are for the dynamic lifestyle prevalent in the UAE, merging refinement, comfort, and intelligent hybrid efficiency seamlessly.
Transitioning from ECO to SPORT mode during the drive infused the experience with an additional layer of thrill. The instantaneous torque and acceleration allowed me to explore the vehicle’s capabilities, especially during stretches of open highway. The OMODA 7 showcased a dual personality: a calm, composed companion for city driving, and a spirited powerhouse for road adventures.
After two days of exhilarating driving, we returned to Wuhu for the closing ceremony. I experienced a profound sense of pride—not only for representing a home-grown endeavor but also for participating in what feels like a groundbreaking chapter in sustainable mobility. The OMODA & JAECOO Ten-Nation Hybrid Marathon represented more than a mere drive; it unveiled a glimpse into the future of intelligent and eco-conscious automotive innovation. This inaugural hybrid endurance marathon stands as a significant milestone in my journey, etched in my memory as an unforgettable experience.
