Operation Gallant Knight 2 provides food parcels to 300 civil defence recruits in Latakia

LATAKIA, 24th May, 2023 (WAM) — More than 300 Syrian civil defence recruits in Latakia Governorate received food parcels from an Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) delegation as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, organised by the Ministry of Defence.

Under the UAE’s humanitarian and relief efforts framework, the ERC delegation confirmed that they are still conducting the “We Will Not Forget You” initiative in cooperation with Syrian authorities and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

The ERC launched the “We Will Not Forget You” initiative to provide food parcels to more than 300 civil defence workers in Syria as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2.

Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Head of the ERC Delegation in Syria, lauded the key role of the civil defence workers in rescuing survivors of the earthquake that hit Syria.

The goal of the initiative is to offer food and clothing to some 500 cleaners and 600 medical staff in Latakia.

As part of its efforts to support the Syrian people’s recovery and rehabilitation, the UAE is constantly providing food, medical supplies and medicines and assessing the needs of various sectors.
