Abu Dhabi’s TAMM App Garners Prestigious GCC Award for Digital Innovation
Abu Dhabi, October 10, 2025 – In a remarkable achievement that underscores its commitment to digital transformation, TAMM, Abu Dhabi’s state-of-the-art AI-driven application, has been honored with the award for the “Best Comprehensive Government Application” at the Gulf Digital Government Awards. This biennial event, organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), serves to recognize excellence and innovation in the realm of digital government initiatives across member states.
TAMM is not merely an application; it represents the culmination of a strategic effort to streamline and enhance the accessibility of government services. By integrating over 1,100 services into a singular, user-friendly platform, TAMM has created a digital ecosystem that facilitates the seamless navigation of governmental processes for its 3.6 million users. This centralization is fundamental to the app’s design, allowing users to accomplish a wide array of tasks—from renewing identification cards to scheduling health assessments—with just a few clicks.
The award for the Best Comprehensive Government Application specifically lauds GCC institutions that have made significant strides in digital transformation. Evaluation criteria include the effectiveness of user experience, the accessibility of design, and measurable benefits to society. In this regard, TAMM stands out as a prime example, demonstrating how advanced technology can enhance public services while simultaneously fostering transparency and efficiency.
His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), articulated the import of this recognition. “This accolade affirms Abu Dhabi’s unwavering dedication to crafting government services that prioritize the needs of our citizens,” he remarked. He emphasized that TAMM illustrates the convergence of innovation and empathy, showcasing what can be achieved when technology is employed purposefully. Al Kuttab noted that through collaboration and diligence, the government is able to deliver faster, smarter, and hyper-personalized services, positioning TAMM at the forefront of Abu Dhabi’s vision to establish itself as the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027.
The Director General of TAMM, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Askar, elaborated on the app’s user-centric approach, stating, “The success of TAMM is a direct reflection of our ever-expanding user base. We are committed to listening to our users, continuously iterating on our services, and ensuring that they function seamlessly across every touchpoint. In doing so, we are setting a new benchmark for digital government capabilities.”
A pivotal aspect of TAMM’s design is its integration with processes across 90 public and private entities, thereby simplifying critical life events and facilitating business transactions. This feature not only enhances efficiency but also provides a framework for transparency and high-quality service delivery to the community. For example, users can expect a full suite of services including driver’s license renewals, vehicle inspections, certification attestations, and even the ability to report community issues through image submissions. Remarkably, TAMM employs AI to address 95 percent of requests, enabling human operators to concentrate on more complex inquiries, thereby improving overall service quality. The app boasts an impressive customer satisfaction score of 92.5 percent, a testament to its effectiveness and user engagement.
Beyond its recent accolade at the Gulf Digital Government Awards, TAMM also achieved international acclaim earlier this year when it was recognized as the world’s best eGovernment project at the UN-backed WSIS Prizes. Looking ahead, the app is poised to showcase groundbreaking features during the upcoming GITEX Global 2025 event in Dubai, indicating its commitment to continuous innovation.
As digitalization continues to reshape our world, TAMM serves as a beacon of excellence within the Gulf region, illustrating how blended approaches of technology and governance can lead to enhanced public service delivery and citizen satisfaction. By focusing on the everyday needs of its users, Abu Dhabi’s government not only elevates the standard of its services but also sets a precedent for digital transformation across the region and beyond.
