In a remarkable display of faith and community, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi attracted an impressive total of 1,890,144 worshippers and visitors during the holy month of Ramadan, culminating in the festive celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr. This significant influx not only underscores the mosque’s role as a spiritual epicenter but also highlights its commitment to fostering a welcoming and enriching environment for both locals and tourists alike.

Of the nearly two million visitors, a substantial 562,632 engaged in prayers at the mosque. Among those, 193,435 worshippers attended Isha and Taraweeh prayers, while 195,987 participated in Tahajjud prayers. The mosque was particularly vibrant on the 27th night of Ramadan, known for its spiritual significance, with 72,533 worshippers gathering in collective reverence. The celebrations reached a crescendo with 26,025 individuals performing prayers on the morning of Eid Al-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month with joy and gratitude.

In addition to religious observances, the mosque welcomed 391,011 visitors during Ramadan. Over the Eid holiday alone, the magnificent structure hosted 122,819 guests, comprising 57,629 worshippers and 64,959 visitors who immersed themselves in the mosque’s unique blend of spirituality and cultural history. On average, the mosque sustained a steady stream of approximately 11,240 visitors daily throughout Ramadan, further illustrating its allure as a sought-after destination.

To enhance the visitor experience, the Centre organized 289 guided tours that drew in 4,270 participants. Tourist operators contributed significantly to this influx, with 6,774 bookings made during the season, accounting for a remarkable 128,361 visitors. Additionally, 75 official delegation bookings helped foster international ties, welcoming 1,126 individuals to the site.

Recognizing the increasing volume of inquiries and the need for effective communication, the Centre doubled its call center operators, managing to handle 4,436 calls during this busy period. In collaboration with Abu Dhabi TV, daily live broadcasts of prayers reached millions worldwide, amplifying the mosque’s outreach and allowing a broader audience to partake in its spiritual offerings.

A cornerstone of Ramadan’s traditions is the spirit of generosity, and the mosque embodied this value profoundly by distributing over 2.6 million Iftar meals to the underprivileged and those in need during the holy month. This initiative not only nourished bodies but also aimed to foster community solidarity and compassion, reflecting the essence of Ramadan.

The Centre’s outreach extended beyond just the grand mosque in Abu Dhabi; it also provided services to worshippers in other prominent mosques across the region, including the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah, and the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. At the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain, the total number of worshippers surpassing 290,331 included 99,746 participants in Isha and Taraweeh prayers, and 76,491 for Tahajjud prayers, while a commendable 32,030 young prayer attendees celebrated Eid Al-Fitr there. Over the month, the mosque distributed 442,345 Iftar meals, reinforcing its role as a pillar of community support.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah also experienced a notable influx, welcoming 122,347 worshippers, including 61,084 for Isha and Taraweeh prayers and 30,268 participating in Eid prayers. Meanwhile, the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah recorded a total of 39,783 visitors during Ramadan, with 19,577 attending evening prayers.

These figures reveal not only the spiritual fervor among the faithful but also signify a growing appreciation for the cultural and architectural marvels represented by these mosques. They serve as vital institutions that enhance community bonds, cater to the religious needs of worshippers, and promote an understanding of Islamic culture to visitors from around the globe.

In conclusion, the month of Ramadan at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre was not merely a time of religious observance but a celebration of community spirit, cultural richness, and the intrinsic values of compassion and generosity. As the faithful continue to gather at these remarkable sites, they foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose that transcends geographical boundaries.
