Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority Announces Holiday Schedule Changes for Eid al-Adha

As the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha approaches, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has unveiled its operational hours for public transport services from June 4 to June 8, 2025. This announcement serves to facilitate the movement of residents and visitors during one of the busiest holiday periods in the United Arab Emirates.
The Dubai Metro will be operating extended hours, providing service on both the Red and Green lines from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. the following day throughout the holiday. This schedule reflects the RTA’s commitment to ensuring that the public has access to convenient transportation, allowing families and friends to gather and celebrate unhindered.
In addition to the Metro services, the Dubai Tram will be in operation during similar hours, available from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. This seamless integration of different modes of public transport is crucial as it allows for efficient travel across the city, especially in areas where festivities and gatherings are expected to draw large crowds.
However, there are notable adjustments to bus services, particularly with route E100, which will not operate from Al Ghubiba Bus Station during the holiday period. The RTA has recommended that passengers utilize bus route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station as an alternative to ensure continued access to essential destinations. Moreover, for those traveling to Abu Dhabi, route E102 will provide direct service from Al Jafiliya station to Zayed International Airport, bypassing several intermediate stops to optimize travel time.
Parking provisions have also been addressed in conjunction with the holiday schedule. From June 5 to June 9, all public parking areas will be free of charge, with the exception of multi-level parking structures. This initiative seeks to alleviate the financial burden on residents and visitors who will frequent various attractions and venues during the celebratory period. Such measures illustrate the RTA’s understanding of the festive landscape, promoting an environment where families can enjoy the holiday without added stress.
The RTA has also outlined the operational status of its Customer Happiness Centres. During the holiday, only select smart centres will remain operational, specifically those located in Umm Ramool, Deira, Barsha, and the RTA head office. Traditional service provider centres will be temporarily closed from June 5 to June 7, with operations expected to resume on June 8 at designated inspection centers, including Tasjeel Al Tawar in Al Mankhool, Al Yalayis, and Shamil Muhaisnah. Official administrative functions and transactions will restart on June 9.
This proactive designation of service hours and modification of routes underscores the RTA’s goal of enhancing the public transport experience during significant cultural events. With millions of residents and tourists descending upon Dubai for Eid al-Adha, the authority strives to ensure that movement remains fluid and accessible, thereby allowing for the joyous celebration of this important holiday.
As Dubai continues to position itself as a global hub for tourism and business, the RTA’s efforts are indicative of its broader strategy to support an expanding population while accommodating the intricacies of community and family life. The adjustments made during Eid al-Adha are not merely logistical— they reflect a deeper understanding of social customs and the rhythm of life in this vibrant metropolis.
With the holiday period drawing nearer, the RTA remains poised not just as a facilitator of transport but as a custodian of the city’s festivities, contributing to the rich tapestry of Dubai’s cultural landscape.
