The new headquarters will serve as the Global Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) Competence Centre, a hub of engineering and technical expertise geared towards urban rail systems worldwide. This venture adds a crucial layer to Hitachi Rail’s existing investments, which includes a prior commitment of 100 million CAD aimed at refining the SelTrac G9 signalling technology from its Toronto base.
